How To Make An Environmental Complaint

When making an environmental complaint, please include the following details:

  • Nature of the complaint,
  • Time of the incident,
  • Location of the incident,
  • Return contact details

To make an environmental complaint you have 3 options as follows:

2. Make a written complaint on the Environmental Complaints Form and address to

  • Leitrim County Council
  • Áras an Chontae
  • Carrick-on-Shannon
  • Co. Leitrim

3. Ring Environmental Hotline 1800 205 205.  The Hotline is staffed during normal office hours while an appropriate member of staff during the next working day will deal with messages left outside office hours.  

National Environmental Complaints Line

Members of the public can report pollution or illegal dumping via the EPA 24 hour lo-call telephone number 1800 365 121. Local authorities and/or the Gardaí and the EPA will follow up on the information provided by the public.
